Frequently Asked Questions

What is soft washing?

Our equipment uses  a soft wash cleaning method instead of pressure in order to provide better results and not cause damage.  Soft washing is a system that uses low pressure and specialized solutions to safely remove mildew, bacteria, algae, dirt and stains.  Some power washing machines, including residential machines commonly sold at home improvement stores, use forceful pressure to remove debris and clean surfaces.  This is harmful to siding, pavement, and roofs.  At Thin Red Line Power Washing LLC, we provide professional services that comply with siding and roof manufacture cleaning specifications.

How often should I get the exterior of my house professionally cleaned?

Most manufactures recommend annual cleaning.  If you are starting to notice buildup on the side of your house or roof, we recommend having those surfaces cleaned right away.  This will target the bacteria and mold before it spreads.  Keeping a clean exterior free of mold, mildew, and bacteria protects your children, pets, family and friends.  Frequent power washing prohibits those nasty particles from coming back.

Why should I hire a professional company to power wash my house?

We are professionals who have been trained on the leading methods and techniques to clean the exterior of your home.  Not to mention, we are experience firefighters with extensive knowledge of water systems and training on operating ladders safely.  You can trust us to provide the highest quality service and are the only ones you should trust to climb on your roof.  We stay on top of industry standards and manufacturing guidelines to ensure we are providing the best service to protect your investment in your home.

Are you insured?

Yes! We are a professional company and insured to operate in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

What do you recommend for a deck sealant?

One of the products we recommend is Thompson's Waterseal.  It comes in natural (cedar) as well as other color tints.  It resists mildew and UV damage.  It is a great product for long-lasting protections.  This sealer can be applied shortly after cleaning.  Unlike traditional stain, you don't have to wait days for the wood to completely dry before application.

Were are you located?

We are located in Mt. Airy, MD and Silver Spring, MD.  We operate in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Do you bring a water tank?

We do bring a water tank but still need access to an outside water connection.  We connect to your outside faucet.  The tank we bring acts as a nursing tank- which means there will be no stress on your water lines.  We draw directly from our tank once it has achieved a desired level.
